2006 Selke Trophy Winner – Rod Brind’Amour

Carolina Hurricanes All-Star game nomineee Rod Brind’Amour won the 2006 Selke Trophy. The Frank J. Selke Trophy is an annual award given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game. The winner is selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association at the end of the regular season.  The video above is from the Award ceremony, shows the nominees and carries Brindy’s acceptance speech. Brind’Amour is Captain of the Carolina Hurricanes.

There’s a direct link to the English language US ballot for the 2007 NHL All-Star game, or you can use Remember to vote Rod Brind’Amour, Erik Cole, and Eric Staal for Eastern conference forwards, and Cam Ward for Eastern Conference goalie.
